About Dr. Ramirez
Dr. Alex Ramirez, DPM was raised in Cary, North Carolina. He is American-Chilean and is able to converse and treat patients in Spanish, which allows him to connect with a diverse range of patients. He earned his degree in Biology from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia, where he also played college football as a tight end. His interest in medicine began with sports medicine injuries and the rehabilitation and surgery required to help athletes return to play.
During his college summers, Dr. Ramirez explored a variety of medical specialties through shadowing. His experience observing podiatric surgery solidified his passion for podiatry, and he went on to earn his degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. Between his third and fourth years, Dr. Ramirez took a personal year off to volunteer as a medical volunteer in Peru and Guatemala. This experience broadened his perspective on global medicine and surgery, which continues to shape his approach to patient care.
Dr. Ramirez completed his surgical residency at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah, where he specialized in foot, hindfoot, and ankle sports medicine and reconstructive surgery. He has practiced in Northern New Mexico since 2018. Dr. Ramirez is deeply committed to providing personalized care in the areas of sports medicine, reconstruction, and peripheral nerve surgery, and he specializes in diagnostic ultrasound to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.

He has been the team podiatrist for Highlands University and has served as the sideline podiatrist for their football team since 2021. His expertise includes treating sideline, outpatient, and surgical sports medicine injuries related to the foot and ankle.
